Welcome.

Someone shared this with you because they see that you have a curious mind, a hunger for meaning, and the courage to ask real questions. They thought you should know about St. John’s College in Santa Fe.

At St. John’s College, in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico, we read books, entire books, deep and beautiful books. We talk about what they mean, how they change us, and why they matter. We study philosophy, literature, mathematics, laboratory science, and music. We learn Ancient Greek and French so we can read texts in their original languages.

Our classes are small. In seminar rooms and laboratories, around tables rather than in lecture halls, students take up the difficult work of close reading, rigorous inquiry, and sustained conversation.

There are no majors at St. John’s, no lectures, and no hiding behind screens. Just students and faculty members learning together. Everyone reads the same books, and everyone brings their own thinking to the table.

Santa Fe is a place of remarkable light and wide horizons, well suited to the kind of work we do. If you’ve been searching for something deep, human, and alive, we would love for you to join us. It isn’t for everyone, but it might be for you.

Come read with us.
